Health Education 1 provides Freshman with the knowledge and skills to achieve overall wellness in life. Students examine how decision making and risky behaviors influence physical, mental/emotional, and social health. Students practice and develop lifelong skills including executive functioning, communicating effectively, stress management, goal setting, and decision making. Health 1 curriculum topics include mental health, alcohol, tobacco and vaping, human growth and development, nutrition and fitness. Students’ awareness will be increased about self-concept and body image and they will explore and evaluate ways to maintain personal health and safety.
